To provide a larger kitchen space and a family dining space, the garden boundary wall and existing house walls were utilised to form a new extension. In essence, a roof was formed over the existing courtyard and glazed doors dropped into the opening to the garden. The overhanging roof and protection from the existing walls means that the doors can be left open to the garden, even in the rain.
